202310-202411 My overall experience was good, but could have been better. I found Velero on Facebook, and saw that one of the Google Reviews was left by a former co-worker. The patio and deck are beautiful, and I love them. My overall experience would have been better if the crew was paying more attention to details, and there was quality control on the material before installation. Alejandro was very patient and didn’t rush me into signing the contract. He promptly answered all my questions. Once the contract was signed, I really appreciated Alejandro helped me pick out the color and the material for the deck and concrete patio as well as put together the package needed to get HOA approval. Because of my pets, I went with the MoistureShield CoolDeck Meridian in Catalina for the deck floor. My HOA disapproved the white with black railing and requires natural color. Alejandro recommended Trex Transcend Railing in the Vintage Lantern. The old deck, new deck and patio were done superfast. During my inspection, many of the Trex railing were damaged. They were supposed to be brand new, and the condition looked as though it was purchased at the discounted section for damaged items. I can’t believe Jamie and his crew didn’t notice the damages during installation. They submitted a warranty claim with Trex, and because it was taking a long time, Velero took the initiative to purchased replacements for reimbursement later. When pouring the concrete, my fence which was recently powerwashed and sealed were not covered/protected, and there were small spots of on my fence. Alejandro said that it is expect to happen, and if I knew, I would have requested large plastic sheets to cover the fence, something that they should have done. I am very patient and too nice. I allowed Jamie to come by to do minor repairs at his convenience, not thinking that would take up the 1 year warranty period. Sometimes the crew didn’t show up at appointment time, and sometimes they showed up randomly. It’s probably because I was being too flexible with them. At least the work was got done. They had to take down my gate to cut to accommodate the elevated patio, and the gate kept leaning ever since making it difficult to open and the bottom scraping the patio as it opens. Jamie was very nice to try to fix it a few times, but it continued to lean. I had to hire someone to fix it. The deck has lights installed, and there was no instruction booklet provided. I had to ask Jamie how to use it and also looked online for the instruction manual. The gate at the top of the stairs was custom built by Jamie. I like that it matches the rest of the deck, but it kept sagging because of the heavy 4x4 was used inside the post. I recommend cutting it to reduce its size weight, and it seemed to help. When I was walking up the stairs with the gate closed, I noticed that the bottom of the gate was not even to the deck floor. Lastly, I was using a high pressure nozzle to wash the concrete patio where my dog, who is sick, defecated, and the concrete patio started chipping. Alejandro was supposed to inquire with the company that installed the concrete patio, and I still haven’t heard back. I have decided to just take it as it, and have someone to try to repair it and put a garden over the area to cover it up.Posted on Google
